Bike Parking sends a strong positive message
The presence of bike parking, and businesses displaying the BikesWelcome logo sends a clear message, “Hey, I could cycle here”. It tells people:
- Everyday people are using bikes for everyday activities
- Bike users are customers, they spend money and shop locally, they are loyal
- Biking is a transport option
- Biking is normal
- There is support for cycling in this community
- People in my community are making healthy, active transport choices
- If they can do it, maybe I can too
- People of all ages, shapes, sizes and backgrounds use bikes
- I won’t have to worry about parking if I use my bike
